Inspirational Prayer for Strength...

I found this prayer online nad it truly brought warmth to my very soul... I love our Father in Heaven and His son ever so dearly. "Lord, you say your ways are ways of pleasantness and all your paths are peace. Thank you that you want to guide this daughter of yours to a new level of peace. Help her to find your comforting peace and follow your peace. Show her how to muffle all the noise around her and rest in your arms. Your Word tells us not to be afraid of people and their reactions. May she begin to be able to lessen her anxiety about what people (even important people) think. Thank you that she is placing the priorities of her life in the right order. I pray you will help her to keep them in the right order. May she get a greater sense of your enormous love for her. May she feel your pleasure as she draws closer and closer to you. Amen" That was not my prayer- like I said, I found the wonderful words on a beautiful website intended to motivate, encourage, and comfort people. But I will use this prayer myself in order to continuously know of and obtain the blessings of God's love. Christy Lynn

Grease

Well, I have auditions for Grease in about 13 minutes... Am I nervous? A bit. Haha. I would LOVE to be Sandy, but I will be perfectly fine with wahtever role I get. I have been working super-duper hard on this audition. Probably harder than my audition for Cinderella was... And that is really hard. I feel prepared and ready to show my directors what I can do/what I have improved in. Our dearest Father in Heaven has given us talents... I strive to consecrate every single one of my performances to Him. I love Heavenly Father, and I know he will help me in obtaining my goals. But I also know that He has a plan- whatever happens is for the best. Wish for me to break a leg, everybody!!!! Christy Lynn

Joseph Smith

I think it glorious for one man to love and serve for the gospel of Jesus Christ as much as Joseph Smith did. Without his diligence, I would not have been graciously blessed with the church in my life. I know for a fact that our loving Heavenly Father used Joseph Smith as a faithful tool to restore the church- Joseph was truly a dedicated prophet of God.

I will strive through-out my life and eternities to obtain Christ-like attributes that Joseph Smith obtained and improved oh so well.

Yesterday, I felt the Spirit VERY strongly... All of a sudden I decided to absorb the feeling and smile- I know that if I look at every day with a positive attitude, I can become a better person. I could not stop smiling yesterday. I felt loved and ready to take on my life- I became excited about my future in performing, my husband and children, the trials that would enter into my life, and most of all the work Heavenly Father has in store for me. I Am THRILLED about life. :D

You Can Do It Too

Recently, I have come across many opportunities to become more accomplished in my singing. Earlier this school year, I was Cinderella, I made District Choir, and now... I made Chamber Choir, I got a one on my solo at Districts, and a one plus on my solo at State. I feel like Heavenly Father is looking out for me and providing these things so I may improve- someday he may need my performing abilities in some way.

I am excited for how much motivation I have had to go out into the world and become better at what I love. I must admit that I was thinking about quitting theater and choir... I thought I might work on my entertaining with my father in his shows, but I think that would have been the wrong decision. The atmosphere of our school's theater and choir departments may be tough to get through, but it will definitely make my testimony grow stronger.

The point of this post is... Do not give up on what you LOVE! It does not matter what people think of you, what they say... Know that Heavenly Father loves you and he has given that talent to you for a reason!!!

Current Events

Some very tragic things have been occurring recently. I am talking about the multiple shootings, the bombs in Boston, and even the explosion at the fertilizer factory.

All I ask on this post is that we keep the victims and their friends and families in our thoughts, prayers... Anything to emit the love we have for every single one of them. These people need comfort and sometimes all it takes are people's wishes to help with even merely praying. God is there for all of us...

My Future

People go through many trials in their life and some even let it eat at them until they cannot handle anything anymore. Recently, I've been faced with some trailing things, but I have decided to look at them as an opportunity to become a better person. I have made the conclusion that my struggles will, in the long run, definitely help me become who I want to be- They will help me figure out the purpose of my life.

I have faith in God that everything happens for a reason and he never gives me something I cannot handle.

Fathers

Last week my dad and I worked on a piece of music called "Help Me Find the Way" by Afterglow. It is a song about a daughter of God praying to her Heavenly Father- she receives his loving answer and comes about the realization that God will always be there for her. It's a beautiful piece, and it really helped my father and I get closer. I applied the lyrics to our relationship and found that-no matter what- my earthly daddy will always be there for me, too. I love music... I love it so-o-o much! It is a way for me to bear my testimony and share Christ's light through beautiful notes. I think that music truly helps you get closer to the veil and understand God's love for every single one of his children. Christy Lynn

Dancing

Oh, I LOVE dancing soooooo much! I just participated in a dance-off today and had a blast!!! SOOOO FUN! I urge everybody to get up right now and just dance- Dance your little heart out!

My Love for the Music

Guys are confusing and extremely weird, but that has nothing to do with this post. I'm teaching a song to our Young Women at our church. I feel like that through my music, I can shine my light and express my testimony in beautiful, emotional ways. I love the idea of different notes combining to create the most lovely pieces. Advanced Acting

So, this week I had an audition to get into the class of... "Advanced Acting." My audition was supposed to be a scene with a partner from Greek Theater. My partner and I chose a scene from "Seven Against Thebes." I played Antigone, and she played Ismene. Well, basically two sisters are mourning the deaths of their brothers in a kind of chant-like fashion. I made my character very emotional and a pinch of a crazy side. Well, both my partner and I made the class! YAY! Now the new 2013-2014 school year will be fun with the best class ever!!! :D Christy Lynn P.S. Standards

So, I made "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." The thing is, I went to the read-through... Well, I felt very uncomfortable listening to the story line. I know how emotionally fragile I am at this point in time (for weird reasons), so being constantly surrounded by something that I feel is inappropriate would drain me- I would literally break. I quit the show, but it had NOTHING to do with the department, or the people... I promise I will still do theater. I love it too much to quit. :D Christy Lynn

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

So, I auditioned for the Spring show... All I have to say is that our teacher is casting only 13 girls, and they MUST know how to tap dance. My dancing I think went pretty well, but I didn't know enough of the mechanics to be cast, in my opinion. I think my singing went pretty well... I just can GUESS who will be cast (the seniors/amazing dancers). Haha, I'm just a sophomore. But it's okay. "Cinderella" was fun, and if I don't make this show- I will be perfectly alright. New Year

2013 has come to me as an opportunity to better myself. This year, I want to focus on becoming spiritually strong and my performing talents. I also want to keep becoming a better writer (I love writing), but something is telling me to focus more on becoming an actress, singer, dancer, etc. I wonder how many people actually read this blog.
